Brand: SMEG

Question 1

How much does a Smeg washing machine repair cost with Swiss Pro Service?

Accepted Answer

Swiss Pro Service charges a transparent diagnostic fee for the technician's visit, which covers a full fault assessment — including electronic fault-code scanning and inspection of components such as the control board and drain pump. Once the diagnosis is complete, you receive a detailed, itemised repair quote before any work begins. You only pay for what you have explicitly approved, with no hidden call-out surcharges or surprise additions to the final bill.

Question 2

How quickly can a technician reach me, and how do I book?

Accepted Answer

In most Swiss cantons, Swiss Pro Service can schedule a visit within 48 hours of your request. Booking is simple: use our online form or call our team directly — both options are available seven days a week. During booking, briefly describe the fault (for example, an E10/F10 water-intake error or unusual spin-cycle noise) so the technician arrives with the most likely spare parts already on hand, maximising the chance of a same-visit repair.

Question 3

Does Swiss Pro Service use original Smeg spare parts?

Accepted Answer

Wherever possible, Swiss Pro Service sources original Smeg spare parts, which are manufactured in Italy to the same exacting tolerances as the components in your machine. For models where original stock lead times would cause unnecessary delay, we use certified-compatible alternatives that meet or exceed manufacturer specifications. This policy applies to all critical components — including drum bearings, door seals, drain pumps, and inlet solenoid valves — ensuring longevity and preserving your machine's warranty integrity.

Question 4

What warranty do I get on a Smeg washing machine repair?

Accepted Answer

Every repair completed by Swiss Pro Service comes with a 12-month written warranty on the installed parts. This means that if an installed part fails within the 12-month warranty period, it will be replaced at no cost to you; the call-out and labour for the new visit are charged. The warranty applies equally to complex interventions — such as control-board replacement after voltage damage — and to simpler jobs like clearing a blocked drain pump or renewing a leaking door seal.

Question 5

What is the best preventive maintenance tip for a Smeg washing machine?

Accepted Answer

Run a dedicated drum-cleaning cycle at 90 °C with a washing-machine cleaner once a month, and — crucially — inspect and clean the drain pump filter every four to six weeks. Smeg's precision drain pumps are particularly susceptible to blockages caused by coins, hairpins, and lint accumulation, which can trigger an F11 pump-fault code and lead to costly repairs. Keeping the filter clear takes under two minutes and significantly extends the service life of the pump and drum bearings alike.
