Repair Microwave IKEA – Basel-Country

2. Diagnosis — Our engineer arrives with the right tools and performs a thorough assessment. IKEA microwave ovens are developed in collaboration with Whirlpool and feature a standardised built-in design, meaning our technicians are already familiar with the internal layout. We check the magnetron — the vacuum tube responsible for generating the microwaves — as well as the high-voltage transformer, the HV capacitor, and the HV diode. Important safety note: the HV capacitor retains a dangerous charge even when the oven is disconnected from the mains; our trained professionals handle it with the strict precautions required by Swiss safety norms.

3. Repair — Once the fault is confirmed, we present a transparent, itemised quote before any work begins. Common faults we address include a burnt-out magnetron (where the oven appears to operate normally but generates no heat whatsoever), a failed HV capacitor, an internal fuse blown by a voltage surge, a faulty rotating-plate motor, or a door that no longer closes properly — triggering the multiple mechanical safety interlocks built into IKEA models. We use original or certified-compatible spare parts, and IKEA guarantees parts availability for a full 10 years from the appliance's production date, so sourcing is rarely an issue.

4. Guarantee — Every repair carried out by Swiss Pro Service comes with a 12-month written warranty on the installed parts. You receive clear documentation, a dated receipt, and the assurance that if an installed part fails within the 12-month warranty period, it is replaced at no cost; the call-out and labour for the new visit are charged.

Speed and reliability are not optional extras at Swiss Pro Service — they are the foundation of everything we do. We pride ourselves on intervention within 48 hours, often the next day in the main cities, and our nationwide coverage means no Swiss postcode is too remote. When it comes to IKEA's integrated kitchen appliances, we are committed to upholding the clean, functional design Ingvar Kamprad envisioned in 1943 — keeping your kitchen exactly as it should be.
